Hi AL SMART new member with Fortwo Coupe WME450332 chassis.
Having surfed problems i see you seem to be quite knowledgable on these.
Perhaps you can help with mine please as i have run out of ideas?
Vehicle runs but wont rev up.As soon as throttle pressed ESP lamp comes on and revs stay around 1800RPM.I have tried new throttle body and ESP control unit. I have disconnected alternator and tried new MAP sensor. Also tried ew throttle pedal and checked wiring for short and open circuits.Everythingappears to be cushti and nothing seems to make a real difference.Any ideas? Thanks

Boo!
Only me. Just thought I'd surprise you. You probably saw you got a new 'visitor message' and got all excited (well, excited maybe a little extreme). Bet you were disappointed to see it's just me!
I'll bug you some more later.

Dear TAIM; you kindly answered one of my previous posts & seem to be very busy on here! I have taken the liberty of posting my latest post directly to you for consideration.Hope this is ok.
Just an update on the engine saga for any of you that saw my previous tale of woe ('oil in tik pipe').
Had the 50000ml W reg For2 Passion for a month or so now.Its moved about 10 miles.
Money & hours & hours expended starting to wear me down.
So far;
After purchase, smoked on cold startup & at times on the move a little.
I rebuilt the engine (big ends/rings/valve seals, breather pipe, all the usual).
And fitted recon turbo (old manifold cracked/some spindle play)
Currently still have oil consumption issue.
With NO pipes connected to turbo(intake or oulet to intercooler) Oil is spat out of the high pressure outlet side of the turbo. (Thus into intercooler/throttle body etc etc etc).
I refitted old turbo;same
Sent new turbo back for test (& fitting of another new core).Put back on;same
Today fitted £400 brand new Garrett turbo;same.
Oil level spot on (Now with 5/40 synth)(measured 2.5 ltr fill)
Oil pressure 2-2.5 bar hot (as autodata)
Does not appear to have crankcase compression(no puff from filler cap/dipstick/breather)
Yet I can only assume now that oil return to sump(which is not blocked) must be causing back pressure. How else can oil appear in the turbo? I repeat both the intake & outlet have no pipes connected.
Some comments; I cannot praise TurboActive enough for their patience and assistance. Their recon turbo(which I can only assume was ok in the light of todays events) was from memory £230 +vat & by far the best value I could find.
I did not renew the timing chain during the rebuild;it bugged me after that it was a bit 'whizzy'. I removed the timing cover last saturday & fitted a full kit (both sprockets/guides) & cannot believe the difference. The old chain was 1/2 inch longer(stretched) & the silence with the new fitted is deafening.
NB/ GENUINE kit from Merc (Retail)£86 +vat.
Online smart supplier £101+vat +carriage.
So. Before my short-lived Smart ownership is curtailed by either A/cut losses & bung it in ebay B/Break it for spares C/Top myself should I drain off the 5/40 & put in 20/50mineral & leave it running to bed in the rings?
Has anyone had issues with the breather outlet-that-you-cant reach under the A/C compressor? (Only thing I havent been able to rip apart & look at)
Any ideas??!
Thanks.Andrew.
